2010 CHS Alumni Scholarship
Recipients
The CHS Alumni Society awarded the following
students scholarships of $500 & $1,000 to members of the Class of
2010. A committee made up of CHS Alumni Members selected the recipients
based on Academic Standing, Leadership, Character, Community & Volunteer
Services, Extracurricular Activities, & Financial Need.
Students were asked to write and essay on one
of the following topics:
1. Their High School Experience
2. How You Will Promote CHS after Graduation
3. What Would You Do to Improve CHS for Future Graduates
Students Letter of Recommendation Forms had to
be sent in by: (2 teachers and 1 CHS graduate or a Community Leader).
All identifying information (name, address, parents
name, etc) were then marked out by alumni president and then assigned
a number. Only the alumni president had the names of each applicant.
The applications were then turned over to the scholarship committee
who reviewed the information to select members. The chairperson of the
committee then gave the president the assigned #'s chosen. The students
chosen were then notified by phone and sent a letter.
Pictures of the students were taken at Awards
Night and their names and scholarships received were announced.
To date the CHS Alumni Association has given
out $15,000 in scholarship money since being established in late 2007.
Thanks to all of our members! Without your membership we could not make
these scholarships possible.
